AspectJ's new eclipse based tools raise the bar for aspect-oriented development. They also hint at the synergy created between the eclipse tools and various interesting, but un-heralded areas of software research and development.
As always, a tutorial is a good idea. The new release uses eclipse 'cheat sheets', another example of the synergy mentioned above.
